How can I improve my handheld low-light photography without a tripod?

Posted

I often shoot cityscapes or indoor events in low light, but I don’t always have a tripod with me. What are the best camera settings or accessories (e.g., IS lenses, gimbals) to get sharp photos in those conditions?

  1. Use Burst Mode: Take 3–5 shots quickly—1 may be sharper than others

  2. Brace Yourself: Lean against a wall or use elbows on a table for stability

  3. Enable In-Camera Stabilization (IBIS) if your camera supports it

  4. Focus Manually or Use Single Point AF for precision
